SGS

Over the past 8 years Route2 has supported SGS on their Value2Society journey. The engagement commenced with the design and implementation of a satellite set of management accounts, quantifying and evaluating a number of natural, human, and intellectual capital impact indicators. These included greenhouse gas emissions and employee turnover. Upon this foundation, we developed SGS’s Value2Society methodology, integrating impact indicators into a new aggregate measure of their societal contribution, globally. Value2Society has been applied throughout SGS’s value chain and is now central to both their sustainability practices and their annual reporting.
Yorkshire Water

Route2 has been a central partner in helping Yorkshire Water understand their total impacts on society. We worked with them to define and measure the Total Impact of their operations throughout the value chain on natural, human, and manufactured capital. This initial work culminated in their award-winning publication, Our Contribution to Yorkshire. Today Total Impact permeates their Decision-Making Framework.
Heathrow

Route2 has been working with Heathrow to develop their Sustainability Investment Appraisal Tool, which integrates sustainability considerations into its conventional capital expenditure appraisal process. Route2 is now assisting with the design and deployment of Heathrow’s Integrated Profit & Loss and Integrated Balance Sheet statements, in order to fully integrate sustainability considerations into their financial decisions and business planning.
Co-Op

Over the past year Route2 has been collaborating with Co-op to develop and quantify the components of their Shared Value framework — the value created and distributed to all stakeholders, whether customers, members, colleagues, communities, suppliers or the organisation itself. To achieve this, the collaboration has embarked on an extensive stakeholder engagement programme to identify and structure the relevant impact indicators for Co-op. Over the coming months further details will be released.
Olam
Industry Sector: Agriculture

Route2 is working with Olam to design and implement their Multi Capital Accounting framework and fully integrate sustainability considerations into their finance and business decision-making. The first practical application of this initiative involved quantifying and valuing the natural, human, and social capital impacts arising from cocoa production and processing across 12 countries.
Berkeley Group

Route2 is assisting the Berkeley Group in two areas of their sustainability strategy. Route2 helps the Berkeley Group understand and optimise the Value2SocietyTM of their direct and supply-chain operations. We also designed and implemented a development impact appraisal tool. This tool allows Berkeley to quantify and compare the spatially explicit social, human, and natural capital impact performance of development sites throughout their lifecycles. The findings are used to inform site design and planning.

For the past year, Route2 has been collaborating with Federated Hermes on an Environmental, Social, & Governance data product to support their Responsible Investment strategies. This new ESG product essentially forms a new credit rating that will allow fixed income investors to fully (and finally) integrate ESG into investment decisions.
